On Monday, May 18 someone illegally dumped two mattresses on the Aloha Estates side of Mauna Loa Drive, about a hundred yards from Hwy. 11. Two days later a large dead pig was dumped near the mattresses. An email was written to Matt Kanealii-Kleinfelder, District 5 Councilmember to request removal of the items.. By Friday, the Hawaii County Public Works removed both items and we are truly grateful for their prompt action. As a reminder, it is illegal to dump trash or debris on public roads and we would appreciate it if people who witness dumping to please call the non-emergency police number to report the crime.
